Hamamatsu Develops Multialkali Photocathode for Micro PMT

15/11/2013

Hamamatsu Photonics has developed a multialkali photocathode that will provide near-infrared (NIR) sensitivity for the company’s next-generation Micro PMT. The Micro PMT is an ultra-compact photomultiplier device that is manufactured with semiconductor manufacturing technology and can be produced in high volumes.

The newest version of the Micro PMT featuring the new multialkali photocathode will be available in three products:

• The H12400-01-01 Micro PMT assembly with built-in voltage-divider circuit

• The H12403/H12402 series Micro PMT modules with built-in ultra-compact power supply (two products)

Each product is designed to be easily integrated into instruments and is expected to help the development of high-precision personal-use instruments in applications such as medical diagnostics and environmental monitoring. Samples of the new Micro PMT products are available to instrument manufacturers now.
